CREE XML T6 LED Flashlight Torch Light with Rechargeable 18650 Battery

18650 Battery Charger Use

Battery charger indications vary depending on the manufacturer. Generally, a green light indicates a complete charge or an empty charger. During charging, the indicators may glow red or blink green while charging. Batteries may take four to eight hours to charge. Do not leave batteries in the charger for more than an hour after charging is complete. Whether using a compact two-cell battery charger or a unit that accommodates multiple cells, follow the operating instructions exactly.

Avoid Overdischarging

Users should not over discharge batteries so the voltage drops below 3.6 volts, which users can measure with a multimeter if the charger does not have a voltage indication. Charging over-discharged batteries can be hazardous, especially if they have been flat for months. If Li-ion batteries discharge below 2.5 volts per cell, the safety circuit opens, making the battery appear dead. Only a battery analyzer that identifies the battery charge level and capacity can recharge them with its boost function.

Extended Storage

Users planning to store these batteries for extended periods should discharge them to 40 percent before storing them in a cool place such as the refrigerator. For example, storing a spare Li-ion laptop battery pack fully charged leads to significantly reduced battery life.

Partial Discharges

Users should recharge Li-ion batteries when partially discharged, as they do not possess a digital charge memory for the first 30 charges or so. After that, a full discharge to the indicated cutoff point helps prevent the so-called digital memory, which leads to decreased accuracy in the charger's power gauge.

How To Charge Cree XML T6 Battery

The charger is adjustable via spring mechanism so you can charge other batteries large and small with it, you just need to make sure the voltage and amps match the charger output. The charger has single LED on it that lights up red to indicate charging and then turns green when complete. Charging time varies as to how much of a charge is left on the battery of course, but it takes 2-3 hours from my times charging it. Battery life just depends on how much you use it.
